Face to Face Group Consultation

These 90-minutes group sessions meet both EMDR Institute standards for consultation for Basic Training in EMDR and EMDRIA standards for group consultation for EMDRIA Certification.

I currently offer one face to face consultation group that meets
one Wednesday per month from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at my office in downtown Santa Rosa.

Please let me know if you would like me to schedule a face to face group at another time to meet your needs or the needs of your agency.

For information on joining this group or forming a new group please
contact me or my office.

These face to face group sessions meet EMDRIA standards for group consultation both for Basic Training in EMDR and for EMDRIA Certification.

For Basic Training in EMDR:
  • EMDRIA requires 10 hours of consultation in developmental increments over the course of the training.
  • The EMDR Institute requires 5 hours before and 5 hours after Weekend 2 for a Certificate of Completion.
  • Consultation hours for basic training can be earned over the telephone in group or individual sessions.
  • Those needing documentation for EMDR Institute basic training consultation may request documentation when they have completed the required portion of consultation hours.
For Certification in EMDR:
  • EMDRIA requires 20 hours of consultation.
  • A maximum of 10 group consultation hours can be earned in a group setting.
  • Individual consultation hours can be earned when presenting individual case material.
  • Any clinician can earn consultation hours for Certification over the telephone in group or individual sessions.

Face to face group sessions at my Santa Rosa office are limited to a maximum of six participants but may be as small as four. The focus is on the clinical application of standard research supported EMDR procedures described in Francine Shapiro's 2001 text Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing: Basic Principles, Protocols and Procedures, The Guilford Press.

We discuss case formulation and treatment planning issues as well as how to enhance outcomes during the reprocessing phases of treatment. The clinicians who participate come from a wide range of previous theoretical orientations and current practice settings. Some are completing Basic Training in EMDR. Some have completed Basic Training and are pursuing Certification; some are not.
