Tell me more about the credit examinations.
The examination for each program includes a written course evaluation and a multiple-choice examination with 10 items for 1.5 credit programs and 20 items for 3.0 credit programs.
These examinations are based on both the audio recording and the handout. You will need to listen to the recording and read the handout to achieve a passing score on the program examination.
After paying for the credit examination there is no deadline to complete it. After passing the examination, you will complete the course evaluation and state that you listened to the recording, read the handout, and completed the examination without assistance.
A passing score of 70% is needed to document course completion and receive credit. Forms documenting your EMDRIA credits will be dated as of the date of passing the exam.
Online option: If you do not pass the online exam the first time, you may retake it as many times as needed to obtain a passing score without additional charge. The last screen of the online exam tells you which items you marked incorrectly. You then email your completed exams results to our office. Remember you must also complete the online course evaluation to receive your certificate.
Paper option: There is an additional $5 fee to score 1.5 and 3.0 credit paper exams by hand. The first retake is without additional charge. For subsequent retakes, there is a $10 fee. The paper exam packets are available for download as PDF files. You may return your completed credit examination and course evaluation by either mail or fax.
Paper exam as study guide: Even if you plan to take the online exam, you are welcome to download exam PDF file as a study guide and read the exam questions before or during listening to the audio recording and reading the handout.
