To start you in your journey, I founded The Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute. The Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute offers a clinically focused, basic training in the EMDR approach to psychotherapy. This comprehensive, basic training program is designed to fully prepare you to integrate EMDR into your clinical practice. Whether you are already trained in EMDR or are considering obtaining training in EMDR, I invite you to visit the Sonoma PTI website for additional information and resources on EMDR.

Shortly after my EMDR journey began in 1991, I was fortunate to be invited to become an EMDR training facilitator and later an EMDR trainer. In those first few years, I reviewed more than twenty Part 1 and Part 2 trainings. During these trainings I participated in peer consultation with the other members of the facilitator staff.

My experiences in supervising clinical practice exercises as a facilitator tested and strengthened my confidence in EMDR and my ability to think within the Adaptive Information Processing model. As a facilitator I quickly learned it was not enough to have memorized the standard procedural steps and to be able to explain what to do next. EMDR clinicians needed to understand the AIP model itself.

Whether you are in the midst of basic training, have recently completed basic EMDR training, or are a more seasoned EMDR clinician, you will find a range of resources and opportunities here to further your understanding and skills.

In the training area of my web site, you will find opportunities for professional development through
I hope you find these resources helpful. Please let me know if there are other ways I can support your journey of discovery.
